Private Somatic movement/ Meditation Lessons

Private lessons are an ideal way to deepen your existing practices or to learn the basics in an unimposing environment.  Somatic Movement/Meditation classes employ a variety of techniques from yoga, ballet, pranayama (breath work) and Thai Yoga Massage. The focus will be on stress management and emotional regulation as well as building physical resilience. Each class is structured with your particular goals in mind and can vary from the restorative to the vigorous, depending upon your needs.  

In these challenging times it is more vital than ever to find a way to drop below the noise, to become centered in your body and breath. These are your touch stones in a world of digital bombardment, something our nervous systems have not evolved to handle. The intention is to give you tools of self care.  

Directed movement is also an excellent compliment to bodywork.  Specific postures are used to undo some of the problems presented in a bodywork session.  This sort of "postural re-patterning" provides the client with the means to continue the benefits of their session between visits, as well as improving their awareness of what happens in their own bodies which leads to improved health and feelings of self-empowerment.

Your instructor, Tara Hedges, LMT, RYT has practiced yoga in a variety of traditions for over 30 years.  She uses her vast experience as a bodyworker to safely facilitate the proper body mechanics and alignment.
